VI COMMANDO

L/Sgt T. Davis MM, formerly of the Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry, served in No.6 Commando from at least 26^th February 1943. He was recommended by Lt-Col. Derek Mills-Roberts for a Military Medal on 5^th March 1943 for his action during the Battle of Steamroller Farm at Fedi Et Attia on 26^th February 1943. The gallantry medal was  awarded to him on 26^th September 1943.

The citation reads:

‘In an engagement between VI Commando and a Battalion of Herman Goering Jaeger Regiment, L/Sgt. Davis showed entire disregard of enemy fire and led his men in instance with great courage and skill.  When wounded in the stomach he continued to engage the enemy until completely incapacitated by his wound’.
